Press Release: Norsk Interaktiv and SimplyLearn Merge – A New Era for Digital Learning in the Nordics and EU

The Norwegian e-learning companies Norsk Interaktiv AS and SimplyLearn AS announce today a strategic merger to create a leading player in digital learning. The merger combines SimplyLearn’s technological strength with Norsk Interaktiv’s pedagogical expertise and solid experience in e-learning. Together, they will offer innovative solutions for both the public and private sectors.

The main goal of the merger is to scale up quickly and deliver flexible e-learning solutions with more integration options and expanded use cases for customers.

The merger allows us to realize our ambition of offering a powerful and flexible LMS, combined with a world-class Norwegian-developed authoring tool. With Creator and AI at the center, we are taking digital learning to a whole new level, says Martin Morfjord, CEO of SimplyLearn AS.

Platform strategy and product focus

Central to the initiative is the authoring tool Creator, which is now receiving a significant upgrade. With a development team that is multiplying, Creator will become the best Norwegian-produced alternative to the American Articulate and Rise. A close integration is being developed between Creator and SimplyLearn’s learning platform (LMS), which will make it even easier to build courses, while significantly increasing the possibilities for advanced functionality and customization.

Creator has also experienced strong commercial growth recently, with around 40 new corporate clients in the past months. Among our new Creator clients are Skanska, Arbeidstilsynet, Tinde Hytter, Baker Hansen, Veidekke, Transocean, and Veøy. Following the launch of the multi-user version in February 2025, many clients are quickly expanding with more licenses, confirming the need for flexible solutions in businesses seeking forward-looking training solutions.

At the same time, Norsk Interaktiv’s existing LMS will be maintained, with a clear focus on customers who want a simpler and more straightforward solution for course delivery. This differentiation ensures both continuity for existing users and flexibility for various needs – from user-friendly distribution to advanced, integrated solutions via SimplyLearn LMS.

We have long collaborated well with SimplyLearn, and it is natural for us to merge now. With our experience in content development and the growth we have already experienced with Creator, merging with a technologically strong company like SimplyLearn will equip us to meet the learning needs of the future, says Arne B. The market positioning will focus on a comprehensive investment in artificial intelligence.
